Name: Sunrise
Race: Tiefling
Class: Bard
Age: 22
Appearance: Small, lovely, and delicate, with golden skin and golden eyes and dark curls tumbling down her back. Her horns curl elegantly, their lighter color contrasting with her hair, and her tail tends to curl around one leg like a vine. She favors simple dresses in white and gold, and lots of silver- and gold-plated bangles.
Personality: Friendly and idealistic, and a little driven. She loves the spotlight and has a touch of arrogance, and is overfond of luxury and creature comforts, but she genuinely does want to help people. In public, at least, she makes a show of "rising above" any anti-tiefling sentiment she encounters, reacting to it "more in sorrow than in anger."
"I'm not mad; just disappointed."
Religion: Sunrise pays homage to many of the Blessed 18 - her personal favorites are Istus, Lastai, and Lirr - but her own patron deity is Hamity, a goddess popular elsewhere but less-known in this part of the world. She spends a lot of her free time at Hamity's shrine, which - not coincidentally - offers luxurious hot baths.
Commonly known: Sunrise is one of Brilight's success stories, rising from the Westside slums to gain moderate popularity as a singer despite her tiefling heritage. Not long after the plague hit, she disappeared briefly from public view; when she returned, it was as a firebrand. Her next concert ended with an impassioned plea for the city officials to dedicate more resources to researching and ending the plague. Since then, she's only become more outspoken, turning her voice and stage presence into powerful oratory as she demands action from the city. There is a rumor that she might run for office, but it's unconfirmed.
Uncommonly known: Sunrise died of the plague. When she woke up in the temple of Lastai, she was surprised not only to be alive, but to be informed that she owes no debt. Optimistically, she chooses to believe her mysterious benefactor is a wealthy-but-self-effacing fan; privately, she fears it might be something more sinister. Nevertheless, she sees this as a new lease in life, and is determined to use it to make a difference. In addition to becoming politically active, she has secretly been studying bardic magic.
